Why Eastern Europe
Eastern Europe in general, and Russia in particular, is recognized by business and analyst community as the emerging software outsourcing destination. Many global technology leaders and MNCs, including Sun, Intel, Alcatel, IBM, Siemens Business Services and others have already discovered the value of using Russia-based software engineering resources.
- Young, talented software engineers
Eastern Europe, and notably Russia, is known for having the world’s best education system in math, science and technology. All Exigen Services staff have university degrees (B.Sc or M.Sc.) in computer science or engineering, which in Russia means 5+ years of university training. Exigen Services is a dynamic global company that aims to attract young achievers: our employees’ average age is 29, and average professional experience exceeds 6 years. We employ many certified Sun, Microsoft, IBM and Oracle developers, architects and DB administrators.
- Extremely low attrition
Eastern Europe offers the lowest personnel attrition rates among the major software outsourcing destinations in the world. Exigen Services has continuously enjoyed attrition of under 8% (including involuntary separations). This translates into stable project teams, knowledge retention, no time wasted on endlessly training new hires, and met deadlines.
- Cultural alignment to the US and Europe
Eastern European companies have much closer cultural alignment with their US and EMEA clients than vendors from traditional outsourcing destinations in Asia. The mindset and work ethic are very similar, which makes for very productive partnerships.
- Scalability
Eastern Europe, and Russia in particular, has a large talent pool that still remains vastly untapped. Exigen’s hiring organization has helped us maintain a high pace of personnel growth (70%+) for the last 4 years. Exigen Services is integrated with leading universities in the regions where we operate to give us access to the best local talent. Our largest development centers are located in St. Petersburg and Riga, both university towns and renowned centers of education and science.
- Language skills
English is the predominant foreign language taught at most Eastern European universities and schools. At Exigen Services, English is the company’s official working language, and as such is a pre-requisite for being hired to work for Exigen. All process and project-related documentation only exists in English. Over 85% of our staff have sufficient command of English to be comfortable directly communicating with clients on a daily basis via email, IM, phone, or Skype. Exigen Services provides complimentary on-site language trainings to employees who wish to enhance their English skills. Additionally, a significant percentage of our EU-based resources (Latvia, Lithuania) have German language skills as well.
